The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ISGlobal is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to oversee the financial, budgetary, and administrative management of the Child Survival Programme, funded by Fundación "la Caixa" [1]. The primary goal is to ensure that funds are managed, justified, and audited in strict accordance with the terms of the collaboration agreement signed in December 2024. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC DUTIES Budgetary Management: Develop, monitor, and update the Child Survival programme budget, ensuring that expenditures align with approved activities. Financial Justification: Lead the preparation of periodic financial reports and final accountability for Fundación "la Caixa". Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with the financial clauses of the agreement and coordinate external audits if necessary. Payment Coordination: Manage transfers and payments related to the Gavi contribution and operational costs derived from the alliance. Internal Control: Supervise project accounting and ensure the correct allocation of transversal costs. SKILLS Analytical Capacity: Advanced ability to work with spreadsheets and ERP financial management systems. Rigor & Ethics: Absolute commitment to financial transparency and regulatory compliance. Communication: Ability to explain financial statements to non-financial profiles and negotiate with external partners. The post holder will adhere to ISGlobal principles contained in People management policy, including Equity, diversity and health safety. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS Education: University degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance. A Master’s degree in Project Management for International Cooperation or Auditing is highly valued. Experience (Essential): * Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management of research or international cooperation projects. Proven experience in grant justification for major donors or foundations (preferably Fundación "la Caixa"). Experience in financial auditing and cost control. Experience (Desirable): Knowledge of international grant management and public-private partnership agreements. LANGUAGE LEVEL English: Advanced proficiency (C1) for liaison with international organizations (Gavi). [1] Spanish and Catalan: Full fluency. CONDITIONS Duration: 8 months (renewable based on project needs). Starting date: 01/05/2026 Contract Type: Full time Salary: Depending on candidate's experience and ISGlobal scales. SELECTION PROCESS The selection process is designed in two phases: 1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV. 2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues. If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions. In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
