EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong background in accounting with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- CPA designation is an asset, strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles is required.
- Proficiency in using software programs, including Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- HR knowledge or experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monthly reconciliation and reporting to the Department of Health & Wellness, as required.
- Collection of overdue accounts.
- Completion of the annual budgeting process, including assisting other managers and directors with their budgeting process.
- Clinic shadow billing: Supervise billing clerk(s) while executing necessary tasks and transactions to meet shadow billing requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing the management of the billing clerk’s duties.
- Cash flow management: bank reconciliation, cash management with Department of Health and Wellness funding.
- Account payable process: code and post all invoices and expense reports for the Centre. Appropriate accounts payable management and payment of invoices.
- Accounts receivable process: process non-patient receivable invoices, complete follow-ups, manage collection process, and perform monthly reconciliations.
- Asset Management: Manage asset portfolios, including tracking and maintaining a comprehensive list of equipment leases, building leases and financial obligations.
- Capital Asset Management: Handle capital asset management.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Prepare all necessary reports for the Finance & Audit Committee and Council meetings.
- Budgeting and Planning: Prepare financial budgeting, planning and subsequent reporting as needed.
- Annual Compilation and Coordination: Support annual coordination with external auditors helping provide necessary documentation.
- Help implement best practices and standardize processes.
- Miscellaneous: Perform other duties as assigned.
