Job Summary
The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations of Even Cleaning Services Ltd, ensuring
robust financial planning, compliance, and control across the cleaning and logistics divisions. The
postholder will be responsible for managing budgets, financial reporting, payroll, and cashflow,
while supporting the leadership team in strategic decision-making. This role requires strong
financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to apply financial strategy to a fast-growing
service-based business.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, accounts payable, accounts
receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK accounting
standards.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial targets for cleaning and logistics
operations.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of HMRC requirements (VAT, PAYE,
Corporation Tax).
- Provide detailed financial reports and analysis to Directors and senior management.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with UK financial regulations, Companies House filings, and HMRC
requirements.
- Manage audits, liaising with external auditors, accountants, and regulatory authorities.
- Implement financial controls, risk management systems, and fraud prevention measures.
Cashflow & Business Growth
- Manage company cashflow to ensure operational liquidity across multiple contracts and regions.
- Support business growth initiatives through financial modelling, cost-benefit analysis, and
investment appraisals.
- Monitor profitability of contracts (cleaning, logistics, commercial tenders) and advise management
on cost optimisation.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise finance assistants/administrators and ensure accurate processing of transactions.
- Collaborate with operations managers, HR, and project managers to align financial planning with
operational needs.
- Provide financial training and support to non-finance staff, particularly contract managers.
Systems & Process Development
- Maintain and develop accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
- Introduce efficiency improvements in billing, payroll, and expense management.
- Ensure GDPR compliance in financial data management.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent (or working towards).
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within facilities management,
cleaning, or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax laws, payroll systems, and financial reporting.
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
