Position Overview:
The Finance Manager / Finance Director is responsible for managing all finance and insurance (F&I) operations within the dealership, ensuring profitability while maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the customer experience by offering tailored financing options, extended warranties, and protection products, while also overseeing the dealership’s overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all finance and insurance operations for new and pre-owned vehicle sales.
  • Structure and secure financing deals through banks, credit unions, and manufacturer financing programs.
  • Present and sell F&I products such as extended service contracts, GAP insurance, and protection plans.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as dealership policies.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing clear, ethical, and transparent financial guidance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize profitability in the F&I department.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements and performance metrics.
  • Manage relationships with lenders and third-party service providers.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise the F&I team to achieve sales and compliance goals.
  • Collaborate with sales, service, and accounting departments to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive dealership finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive F&I processes, Reynolds and Reynolds, lending guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record in achieving financial targets and improving department performance.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software DMS and CRM.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to customer satisfaction.
