Description

For a specialized logistics service provider, we are looking for a Finance Manager who not only manages the financial operation but also plays a key role in further automation, reporting development, and process optimization.

Company description

Our client is a medium-sized logistics service provider with approximately 25 employees and a turnover of over €25 million. The organization specializes in the storage and transport of chilled and frozen products within international supply chains. In addition to road transport, it offers services in the areas of sea freight, air freight, warehousing, and customs clearance.


The company has experienced strong growth in recent years and expects to continue this growth in the coming years. To further professionalize the financial organization, we are seeking a Finance Manager who makes a significant contribution at both an operational and tactical level.


Description

In this role, you are responsible for the entire financial administration, reporting, and tax obligations. Additionally, you lead a small finance team and play a central role in various automation and improvement projects. You work closely with the Board of Directors and management, translating financial data into actionable information that contributes to the further growth and professionalization of the organization.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the entire financial administration and general ledger management;
  • Managing, guiding, and coaching the finance team of 5 people;
  • Handling monthly, quarterly, and annual closings;
  • Preparing management reports, budgets, and forecasts;
  • Responsible for VAT returns, ICP statements, and other tax obligations;
  • Coordinating the annual financial statements and maintaining contact with the auditor and other external stakeholders;
  • Developing and standardizing management reports and KPIs;
  • Initiating and managing automation projects within finance;
  • Optimizing invoice processing and administrative workflows;
  • Improving the alignment between ERP, financial, and BI systems;
  • Identifying inefficiencies and implementing structural improvements.



Candidate profile

  • Completed higher professional or university education in a financial, business economics, or accountancy field;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in finance;
  • Experience in managing, coaching, and guiding colleagues;
  • Good knowledge of Exact Online, Excel, and Power BI;
  • Experience with ERP implementations, process optimization, and automation is a plus;
  • Strong analytical skills and well-developed financial insight;
  • Hands-on mentality combined with strategic thinking ability;
  • Proactive personality who takes ownership and realizes improvements;
  • Affinity with logistics, international trade, or supply chain is a plus;
  • Experience with complex VAT issues, international transactions, and customs processes is a strong plus.
