Overview:
The Finance Manager of Inventory Planning & Merchandising Analysis for overseeing and optimizing the inventory levels within the organization to ensure smooth supply chain operations, support sales performance and working capital management. This role also supports deeper insights into merchandising margin performance across inventory categories with close cross-functional partnership. This role involves forecasting ending inventory based on the demand plan, supply availability & lead times, and Inventory targets. The Inventory Planning Manager utilizes data analysis and coordination with procurement, merchandising, sales, and operations departments to align on Inventory needs with business goals. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position that is onsite, and not eligible for remote work.

Experience and Skills Required ·

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Planning or related field
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as an Inventory Planning Manager or in a similar role
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to forecast ending Inventory
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of inventory metrics such as turnover rates, stockouts and Days of Inventory
  • Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area with hybrid work schedule
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of information and draw actionable conclusions making sound recommendations for the business
  • Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organizatio
Responsibilities
  • Analyze inventory levels and forecast ending inventory based on demand forecast and supply availability & lead times.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with Retail finance and merchandising & sales teams for updated forecasts.
  • Monitor and report on key inventory metrics such as turnover rates, Days of Inventory, Aged and Excess Inventory.
  • Analyze the consolidated inventory position and assure synchronized reporting.
  • Analyze inventory margin performance with insights on drivers across categories, pricing strategies, and other drivers.
  • Ability to provide occasional back-up support to team on weekly cash forecast and other Treasury duties.
  • Partner across several functions, including Merchandising, Finance, Technology, and Accounting.
  • Responsible for preparation of financial materials presented to executive leadership team and the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information.
  • Drives continuous improvement of financial processes and develops team to achieve best practices.
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule.
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties.
