Lyackson is a “Nation building a Nation.” As one of five modern communities of the historic Quw’utsun Nation, we are strong, innovative, and deeply committed to reclaiming our stewardship roles. Our reserve lands are located on Leey’qsun (Valdes Island), and our Administration Office is situated just north of Duncan, BC, on Halalt First Nation territory.

WHAT YOU BRING:
· Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA or CAFM designation preferred.
· 5+ years of progressive finance or controller experience (First Nations experience an asset).
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and financial reporting standards.
· Familiarity with First Nations Financial Administration Law and Financial Management Board standards.
· Advanced Excel skills; experience with Adagio accounting software an asset.
· Excellent analytical, communication, people leadership and interpersonal skills.
· High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
· Successful completion of a criminal and credit check.

Lyackson First Nation is seeking a skilled Finance Manager to lead our financial operations and support the Nation’s long-term stability and growth. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is central to ensuring financial accountability, compliance, and transparency for our community and funding partners.
The Finance Manager oversees a small team and manages all aspects of finance, including payroll, reporting, audits, and budget planning. Detail-oriented and highly accurate, the successful candidate will provide timely financial insights that guide decision-making and strengthen community development.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and banking.
· Prepare financial statements and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
· Lead annual and monthly budget processes, providing clear updates to leadership and Council.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, funding agreements, and reporting deadlines.
· Support audits through preparation of year-end working papers and required documentation.
· Maintain asset records, amortization schedules, and accounting software.
· Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve performance and sustainability.
· Supervise payroll and accounts payable administration while supporting department managers with financial planning, reporting, and funding applications.
