The New Commerce Finance Compliance Engagement Team, a powerhouse within the Microsoft Planning and Launch Organization, leads the finance workstreams at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We partner deeply across Microsoft Finance as well as with Microsoft engineering, operations, and business development teams to drive financial compliance. We collect, document, and prioritize finance requirements, perform user acceptance testing, help launch new offers, and provide appropriate ongoing program management and governance.
As a Finance Manager within the P&L Finance Compliance Intake and Engagement team, you will partner closely with Launch Managers and Portfolio Leads to review new intake engagement requests for Finance in launch. The role will require ability to assess a high volume of launch requests, determine the finance risk, and drive clarity with stakeholders across Business Planning, Business Operations, Finance, and Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field
  • OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science
  • or related field
  • 2+ years of finance or financial compliance experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience advocating inclusion practices.
  • Experience in cross-group collaboration skills; ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across Finance, Engineering, Product, and Business Planning teams.
  • Experience managing multiple inputs and priorities across a diverse stakeholder landscape, focusing on impact areas.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a dynamic, dynamic-paced business environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical and reporting capabilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and deliver sound financial and operational solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn new tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Azure Dev Ops, internal reporting platforms).
    Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

  • Manage weekly Intake Reports to ensure timely intake, risk assignment, and visibility into financial compliance gaps across Microsoft launches.
  • Act as Finance Portfolio Manager for portfolios, partnering with launch managers to assess, triage, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders, including agenda setting, decision tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on intake workflow optimization and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Partner with Analytics and Infrastructure teams to streamline reporting and integrate launch metrics into Power BI dashboards.
  • Own key Rhythm of Business (ROB) deliverables, including weekly reporting, stakeholder communications, and intake tracking to ensure SLA adherence and operational clarity.
