We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Finance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function and help build a high-performing finance team as we scale.
You’ll work closely with our COO and fractional CFO to embed operational excellence — and as we grow, you’ll shape how the finance function evolves. You’ve seen how small process changes can create big efficiencies, and you’re keen to bring that mindset into a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
This role is ideal for someone looking to step up as the No.1 finance person on-site, with the support of a fractional CFO. We all work a 4 day week, and we’re open to flexible working.
What you’ll do
- Own and manage the day-to-day finance function, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of month-end and year-end reports
- Reporting against KPI targets
- Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary and variance analysis
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage client invoicing and supplier payment runs, with a focus on cash flow and control
- Submit payroll information to our third-party provider
- Collate and prepare reporting for management, board, and investors
- Support the annual budget process and regular forecasting
- Lead the collation of year-end accounts and oversee the R&D claim process
- Improve and implement daily, weekly, and monthly finance processes
- Lead the transition from outsourced to in-house finance, building tools and systems to scale
- Work with Hubspot CRM to improve invoicing processes and reporting
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and all relevant regulations
- Build and lead a small finance team as the company grows
About you
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller — or ready to step up
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, scaling business
- Track record of improving systems, building process, and driving efficiencies
- Tech / SaaS experience is desirable
- Experience working in a startup, scale-up or PE-backed business is a bonus
- Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a proactive mindset
- Comfortable implementing or improving CRM / finance systems and processes
Why you’ll love working here
- Tech / SaaS scale-up. | US expansion planned
- Flexibility. 3 or 4 days/week with hybrid working – 1-2 days/week in-office.
- Growth & ownership. You’ll be instrumental in building the finance function during a high-growth phase.
- Supportive leadership. You’ll work directly with a supportive COO and experienced fractional CFO.
- Work-life balance. Time off and wellbeing are genuinely encouraged.
- Learning & development. We’ll invest in your growth and give you room to lead.
- Big ambitions. We’re targeting £10m ARR and expanding into the US — you’ll help make that happen.
