Key job responsibilities Business Finance Support: Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models and analyze business problems with limited guidance. Draw conclusions and make recommendations that deliver results and drive improvements. Independently align financial and operational analyses with your business partners, challenging business partner assumptions when necessary. Proactively identify opportunities to resolve finance defects and improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes across teams and organizations. Controllership: Own the financial reporting for a business area and may supervise or teach others in areas of financial reporting. Identify and solve complex data integrity issues and collaborate with stakeholders on resolution, insisting on the highest standards. Develop and execute data analysis processes that are scalable and auditable. Communication: Intuitively utilize active listening skills to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjusting your style based on audience, to articulate complex finance issues. Create effective business partnership with Site Leaders, manage competing priorities, and provide guidance during unexpected events. About the team About the team This role will partner closely with a broad range of Senior Leaders in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, HR and Technology. This role plays a critical role as a financial advocate and business partner. This role will design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reporting on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business. Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience - 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience - 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience - 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience - 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience - Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience - Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) - 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience Preferred Qualifications: - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience - MBA, or CPA - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
