JOB SUMMARY:

This position supports multi-region finance and accounting transactions and performs professional level work in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closes and Board meetings.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Basic knowledge of principles and practices of general accounting standards; quality management; strong problem-solving skills; process improvement; cost accounting; statistical analysis; financial planning and strategy, reporting research results; strong financial skills; understanding of regulatory reporting requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

5 years of Accounting/Finance experience with demonstrated experience in finance and accounting; monitoring; and analysis of data

SKILL AND ABILITY:

Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail and solid organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of SQL also required. Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality, discretion and integrity. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information for reporting purposes.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual income statement analysis by account, resulting in necessary accruals as needed.
  • Creates and improves the P&L reporting using advanced Excel functions.
  • Builds queries and reports with SQL and Excel to assist the controller with GL and AR analysis
  • Builds queries and reports with SQL and Excel to assist operations and general data reporting
  • Manages monthly Scorecards preparation, Board packages, and operational reporting.
  • Manages budget procedures including monthly monitoring of corporate and regional expenditures and revenues to maintain expenditure controls and communicates monitoring status to management.
  • Prepares monthly account reconciliations as needed.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and identifying needed corrections.
  • Manages reporting on cash and revenue transactions on an as needed basis.
  • Provides assistance with cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques and recommending actions.
  • Determines cost of operations by collecting operational data and analyzing standard costs.
  • Seeks new ways to improve efficiency and increase profits.
  • Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications.
  • Assists controller compiling data for annual grant audits, and annual financial statements audits.
  • Routinely analyzes expenditure variances and trends.
  • Establishes and builds effective and productive relationships with the field and other departments.
  • Completes special projects as assigned while completing routine tasks on a timely basis.
  • Maintains confidentiality and safeguards the operations of business.
