Description

As part of the finance team, the Finance Manager will play a key role in leading the financial reporting and budgeting processes at Northcrest Developments and its ongoing development projects. This role reports directly to the Vice Present of Finance and will work closely with our Senior Accountant. Perform day-to-day full-cycle accounting tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Duties will include:
· Preparation and co-ordination of the Company’s quarterly and annual financial statements, and related notes to the financial statements;
· Complete and oversee full cycle accounting duties including bank reconciliations, reviewing, and processing journal entries, monitoring schedules etc.;
· Lead the annual audit and coordinate internal/external audit activities, review and analyze results;
· Advise and document on the resolution of complex accounting issues as they arise;
· Strengthen accounting guidelines and policies, improve financial reporting processes and timelines and fortify the control environment;
· Support the annual budgeting process and consolidation;
· Prepare and review various financial information and analytics to ensure the accuracy of reporting;
· Ensure best practices are employed, playing an active role in designing and implementing new processes modeling a culture of continuous improvement;
· Lead financial automation projects and the improvement of processes, development of metrics and reporting;
· Manage and review corporate expenses, expense allocation, commodity tax filings and Statistics Canada Reporting; and
· Oversee team members ensuring all tasks and expectations are being met within the required timelines.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor degree

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Canadian Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) license;
  • Minimum of five years of progressive work experience with a mix of public accounting and industry experience;
  • Proven working knowledge of financial reporting, exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and strong analytical skills;
  • Skilled in financial planning;
  • Excellent interpersonal management skills, with the ability to effectively interactive with various levels of staff;
  • Strong internal controls and process improvement experience;
  • Strong attention to detail, writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Comfortable with automation of processes and adoption of technology;
  • Proactive and responsive and ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment;
  • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment by being flexible/adaptable and responding to changing circumstances.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $120,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
