SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE:

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Excellent commercial and business acumen with a savvy approach to finance functions
  • problem solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise professionally with all stakeholders
  • Strategically orientated with a willingness to be hands-on when required
  • Demonstrated experience in governance, risk management, auditing practices and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting standards, statutory and regulatory obligations of Not-for-Profit organisations
  • Proficiency in long term financial planning, modelling, analysis and preparation/ interpretation of financial reports with expert commentary and presentation as required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar, senior management level role (experience in the community services/ NDIS or aged care sector would be highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Profit and Loss drivers
  • Prior experience in a similar role, and a strong understanding of NDIS Plans and Funding; including of the various Funded Support options.
  • Experience in MYOB and Microsoft 365 programs, including Word, Power Point, Excel.
  • Strong time management and problem solving/analytical skills, especially utilising your NDIS knowledge to deal proactively with billing and funding issues.
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work to tight timelines and meet competing priorities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting and;
· 5+ years’ experience in a financial leadership position
· Proven strategic planning experience at an executive level
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and MYOB
· NDIS and Aged Care financial management experience
· Not for Profit financial reporting and legislative requirements
· Must have and maintain a current NDIS Worker Screening Check

Responsibilities

Manage all financial operations

  • Delivery of accurate and timely month end financial reports in compliance with the Australian accounting standards and principles, including profit and loss and balance sheets, cash flow forecast and debtor balances
  • Responsible for preparation and development of budget and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational finance policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Develop or recommend solutions for system improvements in line with quality improvement processes
  • Oversight of general financial operations including
  • ensure billing is performed and reviewed prior to lodgement with relevant funding providers
  • debit card and acquittal processes
  • banking processes, accounts payable, accounts receivable
  • follow up and manage debtors to ensure accounts are paid in accordance with Menzies terms
  • submit payment claims to the NDIS Portal and other relevant funding body/ parties
  • grant acquittals
  • maintain and use internal software systems including MYOB and CRM.
  • Oversight of Payroll functions including payroll processes, maintenance of employee databases, superannuation and ATO reporting
  • Responsible for Portable Long Service Leave (PLSL) submissions and claims
  • Communicate with outsourced accounting agency regarding BAS, IAS, end of month processes, journals, annual FBT return, Workcover reconciliation and year end reporting.
  • Participate in and manage financial audit processes (interim and year end).
  • Provide support to management for business planning, service costing, financial modelling and analysis as required
  • Participate in recruitment of finance staff as required.
