THE OPPORTUNITY

Here at The Kids Research Institute Australia, our passionate finance team are a pivotal part of the organisation. Working closely with our research teams, they provide strategic and operational financial support with budgets, planning and analysis, enabling us to achieve our mission - to improve the health and wellbeing of children through excellence in research.
Come and join our finance team as our new Research Finance Manager. This is a key leadership role in overseeing and improving the Institute’s customer-focused business partnering model and will provide a dedicated focus on strategic plan development and implementation, financial forecasting and business intelligence and to enable more effective, sustainable and informed decision making within the research operations.

No two days will be the same in this varied role but typically your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Oversee a team of project accountants and finance business partners, including supervision of accrual accounting processes, cashflow management, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Partnering with affiliate universities and relevant government agencies to ensure the timely collection and lodgement HERDC compliant financial data.
  • Collaborating with professional staff throughout the organisation to improve financial processes and integrate financial support services with other core support services, to ensure single point resolution.
  • Connecting with internal stakeholders to ensure financial reporting requirements are met, including the preparation and completion of regular financial statements and acquittals to funding organisations.

Conveniently based at Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this is a permanent full-time position.
