JOB SUMMARY :

The DC Field Finance Manager acts as a subject matter expert and provides financial guidance to Distribution Centers Management, while ensuring key financial objectives are met. Responsible for preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and performing periodic analyses of variances as compared to plan. Contributes to the development and execution of business team’s financial priorities by participating in local cross-functional joint issue identification, analysis and resolution. Assists local management to achieve their long-term financial goals by evaluating and recommending strategies for improving efficiency, effectiveness and consistency of operations and reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acts as primary point of contact for all financial matters for assigned area DCs. Collaborates with business management and support teams to ensure successful execution, delivery of customer value and positive business results.
  • Collaborates with Corporate Finance to fulfill the DC financial analysis needs and ensure all financial goals are in alignment with the Corporate Financial strategy.
  • Prepares financial forecasts and budgets; tracks and analyzes financial results. Responsible for providing periodic DC and area business performance reviews such as Annual Budgets, Monthly Financial Review, Monthly Business Reviews, P/L reviews and day-to-day root cause / exception analysis.
  • Responsible for driving cost savings efforts and identifying opportunities to improve processes and practices for cost savings.
  • Provides financial management support to all levels of the business team. Contributes to the development and execution of business team priorities by participating in local cross-functional joint issue identification, and analysis and resolution with management and other local business partners.
  • Develops financial acumen of DC management and support functions. Mentors, coaches, and develops DC personnel on financial matters through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of policies and rules, and constructive discipline.
  • Collaborates with DC partners to prepare, review and submit Capital Expenditure budgets and requests.
  • Analyzes all maintenance-related expenses, parts inventory and spending practices.
  • Collaborates with Inventory management and DCs to assist with recurring inventory activities, including those geared toward the reduction of manual inventory adjustments, reduction of damaged inventory, and participation in physical inventory counts in order to ensure minimal negative financial impact.
  • Participates in medium term and strategic planning for the assigned business area.
  • Identifies and analyzes various investments and substantiate rationale for projects through business case developments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in an analytical role in financial accounting and reporting including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. OR High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience in an analytical role in financial accounting and reporting including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • At least 2 years’ experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve issues and problems.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with analyzing and/or reporting data in order to identify issues, trends or exceptions to drive improvement of results.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with a variety of financial platforms such as Oracle, JD Edwards or SAP.
  • Experience presenting to and coordinating senior level meetings, including preparation of agendas, documenting meeting minutes, sending out documents to attendees.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in an analytical role in financial accounting and reporting including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. OR High School/GED and at least 8 years of experience in an analytical role in financial accounting and reporting including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • At least 3 years’ experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve issues and problems.
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or an MBA.
  • Experience in a Distribution Center setting.
