Description

Our client in the Poughkeepsie, New York area has an opening for an Interim Finance Manager. This Interim Finance Manager role requires a hands-on approach to managing financial operations, ensuring accurate monthly reporting, and overseeing a small team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial analysis and reporting to help support organizational goals during this interim period.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and oversee the production of monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports using QuickBooks.
  • Manage payroll, accounts payable, general ledger functions, and financial reporting processes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Supervise and support a team that includes payroll specialists, accounts payable specialists, staff accountants, and financial analysts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and maintain high standards for data accuracy and reporting.
  • Deliver timely variance analyses and financial reports to support decision-making.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure efficient operations and accurate reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement or cost savings.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations during the interim period.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management or related roles.
  • Proficiency in preparing monthly financial statements, including P& L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Strong knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Expertise in financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and other financial management tools.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
