Description

The Finance Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing all financial operations of the school, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining operational efficiency, and aligning financial strategies with the institution’s long-term goals. The role involves managing the finance team, maintaining robust systems, and providing senior leadership with timely, accurate financial insights for effective decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) is desirable.
  • At least 2 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably within an international private education setting.
  • Solid understanding of Singapore’s financial regulations, tax compliance, and accounting standards (e.g., SFRS).
  • Proven experience in managing billing, collections, accounts receivable/payable, and fee consolidation processes.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach across departments.
  • Proficiency with accounting and payroll software.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the finance team in daily operations, including accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the consolidation, invoicing, collection, and reconciliation of school fees and other receivables, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payable to maintain strong cash flow and financial control.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets aligned with the school’s strategic objectives.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support planning and decision-making for academic programs and school initiatives.
  • Establish and enhance financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the institution’s assets.
  • Collaborate with department heads to forecast needs and optimise resource allocation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Singapore financial regulations, including tax, audit, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions to support operational needs and future growth.
  • Review and approve monthly payroll and perform bank submissions.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by senior leadership.
