Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As Finance Manager, you’ll oversee the general ledger (GL) team, with direct responsibility for two management accountants. A background in team leadership is ideal, but applications are welcome from candidates with the right mindset and relevant experience.
This position plays a key part in the month-end close process, reviewing reconciliations and journals, analysing cost centre fluctuations, and ensuring controls and compliance are maintained. You’ll take ownership of internal controls post-close, with final sign-off on journals and reconciliations, escalating key matters where needed.
The role will play a key role in coordinating multiple annual audits. While much of the groundwork is prepared by the team, you’ll lead the audit process, including reviewing impairment, managing external auditor relationships, and controlling audit-related spend.

DUTIES:

  • Oversight and review of monthly management accounts and journal entries
  • Lead internal compliance post-month-end (journals, recs, sign-offs)
  • Manage external audit coordination and associated reporting
  • Review numerous reports and reconciliations – balance sheet, PPV, production cost reports, inventory, cost centre analytics, and associated variances
  • Coordinate responses to technical accounting queries
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across finance operations
  • Support ad hoc projects, including new revenue types and contract reviews
