University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), situated in the West End of London, is one of the largest NHS trusts in the United Kingdom and provides first class acute and specialist services both locally and to patients from throughout the UK and abroad.
We are looking for a Finance Manager to work within the Surgery & Cancer Board.
The post holder will provide financial management support to the Theatres & Anaesthesia Division which comprises of anaesthesia, medical physics and sterile services and has a combined direct expenditure budget of c£76m and 760 WTE. The postholder will also be responsible for the Surgery & Cancer Board Divisional Management.
The post holder will provide financial support and advice to the division meeting both service operational needs and corporate deadlines. This will involve managing day to day financial support to the division and the full monthly financial reporting process. The post holder is expected to work within tight deadlines in a fast paced environment meeting both divisional and corporate requirements.
You will have excellent attention to detail and excellent communication skills (written and verbal) building rapport with various managers and clinicians to support engagement and understanding of the financial position.
The post-holder will have line management responsibility of an Assistant Management Accountant and will report to the Senior Finance Manager.

Provide full financial management support to the divisio
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the financial position
Conduct detailed variance analysis including underlying analysis
Lead on budget holder meetings to ensure engagement and understanding from budget holders, with the ability to interpret and explain complex financial information (verbally and written) to non-finance staff
respond to budget holder queries in an accurate and timely manner
maintain budgeted and actual establishments
ensure accurate and timely recovery of income
line management responsibility of Assistant Management Accountant
any other ad-hoc duties under the guidance of the Senior Finance Manager, which may include Surgery & Cancer Board wide tasks
