OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and driving strategic financial planning. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles to support the organisation’s growth and sustainability.
This position is for 30 hours a week, all year round.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

· Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
· Confident use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
· Team player
· Experience working on Xero and managing accounts (desirable)
· Good understanding of business management within an education environment
· Excellent organisational skills
· Confident using and learning software management systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Accounting qualification desirable but not essential

Responsibilities
  • Annual reporting to Companies House (in conjunction with Wakoos Committee).
  • Payroll submission and Pension reporting
  • Applying Free Entitlement hours for each child and claiming the monetary value from WSCC (in conjunction with nursery management).
  • To be willing to undertake training and development as may be required.
  • To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help, where needed.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information received.
  • Reporting to the Charity Commission (in conjunction with Wakoos Committee).
  • Oversee the Finance Administrator
  • Attending committee meetings to share updates on the financial status, including month end reporting and commentary
  • Create proposals for annual salary reviews and fee increases reflecting the financial status of the company
  • Create the Annual Trustee report (in conjunction with Wakoos Committee).
  • Completing year end and liaising with accountants during the annual audit
  • Financial forecasting and budgeting
  • Managing the bank account and cash flow forecasting
  • Ensuring accurate & clear reconciliations of all accounts
  • Working collaboratively with West Sussex County Council to negotiate lease arrangements (in conjunction with Wakoos Committee).
  • Organising annual insurance and licenses for the company
  • Purchasing resources and paying suppliers
  • Raising invoices for users of the nursery
  • Overseeing and recouping any debt from nursery users
  • To ensure all practice offers safeguarding of children.
