POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the management and finance team in overseeing organizational grant funding and general financial requirements, including payroll administration. This is a wonderful opportunity for a finance professional with 3+ years of experience in the non-profit, development, or civil society sector to join a passionate, dedicated team, implementing domestic and global policy and advocacy programs. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working on projects funded by Global Affairs Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • University Degree in related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in preparing project financial reports, preferably within the non-profit or development sector
  • Advanced level of Excel knowledge and ability is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Global Affairs Canada and/or other large institutional grant funders is a significant asset
  • CGA or CPA designation is a strong asset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of sexual and reproductive rights, with a commitment to upholding an individual’s right to make their own sexual and reproductive choices
  • Commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and intersectional feminist practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse teams
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and flexible, with the capacity to respond quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
  • Proficiency in French and /or Portuguese is an asset.
