Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and professional individual looking for a full time, permanent opportunity within Finance, as a Finance Officer you must possess sound Excel skills, attention to detail and be numerate.
Ideally you will be AAT qualified, or studying towards the qualification, or possess relevant experience and skills gained within a finance department that ensure you can learn tasks quickly and apply a good understanding of financial processes.
As part of a small Finance team, you must be a team player providing support as required and undertaking tasks with a positive attitude.
Due to the nature of the Finance function, you must be able to manage and prioritise tasks to be able to meet deadlines.
Reporting to the Finance manager, the Finance Officer will have responsibility and ownership of specific tasks, you must be able to provide support to the College in these areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility for accurate processing of purchase invoices, purchase credit notes and regular reconciliation of creditor balances with supplier statements.
  • Regular review and reconciliation of the balance sheet creditor control accounts within the finance system, including the aged creditors balances.
  • Prepare and process supplier bank payments ready for review and payment in line with the College Financial Regulations.
  • Assist with other monthly balance sheet reconciliations, month end and year end tasks, including any necessary postings on to the finance system.
  • To maintain setup of the Finance system in line with College Financial Regulations.
  • To provide cover for tasks within the Finance department as required including sales ledger matters, entries into the accounting system and responding to queries from budget holders and pther stakeholders in respect of any finance related matters.
  • To follow the College Financial Regulations and Procedures when carrying out all finance related duties.
  • Deliver strong customer focused service to all users of the finance system including answering queries, providing information whilst always maintaining the confidentiality of personal information as described in the College Data Protection Policy.
  • Assist the Finance Director and Finance Manager with any ad hoc tasks as required
