KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinating and processing accounts payable, including processing invoices within relevant financial management systems and the VGSO’s practice management system.
  • Coordinating accounts receivable.
  • Provide assistance and support in the creation of VGSO invoices.
  • Proactive management and collection of debtor accounts, utilising relevant systems (Power BI) to effectively track overdue invoices and implement follow-up procedures to ensure timely payments.
  • Support monthly financial reporting and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, legislation and policy.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end reconciliations, journals, financial analysis and management reporting with a focus on complex items.
  • Conduct daily cash management and reconciliation activities to maintain accurate cash flow records and support financial planning
  • Maintain robust financial controls between Oracle and Elite (Practice Management System) demonstrating an ability to manage, link and analyse large and complex data sets using efficient and repeatable finance processes leveraging a suite a Microsoft toolsets (Excel, PowerBI etc.)
  • Establish and maintain process documentation for key finance processes.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join our team. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven experience in a similar role with tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or a related field
  • An ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A track record of providing service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Highly level proficiency in MS Office products, with exposure to Business Intelligence tools
  • Experience within a legal or professional services would be highly regarded
Responsibilities

We are seeking a Finance Officer to provide efficient accounting/finance support to the Finance Team and to maintain elements of the VGSO’s practice management system. The primary objectives of this role will be to:

  • Maintain the billing requirements of VGSO, including liaising with clients and necessary requirements
  • Generate invoices, account statements and other accounts receivable functions as required
  • Support the VGSO Accounts Payable function
  • Investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquires demonstrating an ability to manage, link and analyse large and complex data sets
  • Daily cash management and reconciliation activities to maintain accurate cash flow records and support financial planning
  • Assist in providing timely and accurate daily and monthly financial reports and reconciliations
  • Review existing finance-related processes, highlight and implement efficiencies where applicable
  • Proactively contribute to establishing, maintaining continually improving finance processes and documentation
  • Other duties as required
