Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.     Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.    We currently have an opportunity for a Finance Officer in Adelaide to work on Space projects.       What You’ll Do      This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:    * Strong financial management capability, including monitoring budgets, maintaining broadsheets, rephasing commitments and supporting budget estimate/review processes.  * Sound understanding of financial legislation, policy and delegations, with the ability to interpret requirements, provide advice and exercise financial authority appropriately.  * Proficiency in financial analysis and accounting, able to apply evidence‑based reasoning, resolve issues and identify alternative courses of action.  * Experience with ERP or similar systems, including raising and maintaining purchase orders, procurement support, CMS acquittals and credit card transaction management.  * Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including taking minutes, coordinating financial discussions and working collaboratively across Defence environments (including Objective folder use).    What You’ll Bring    * Strong financial management and accounting capability, including experience monitoring budgets, maintaining financial broadsheets, rephasing commitments and supporting budget estimate/review processes.  * Sound understanding of financial legislation, policy and delegations, with the ability to interpret requirements, provide accurate advice and exercise financial authority appropriately.  * Proficiency with ERP or similar financial systems, including raising and maintaining purchase orders, procurement support, CMS acquittals and credit card transaction processing.  * Analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to conduct objective financial analysis, draw evidence‑based conclusions and identify alternative courses of action when issues arise.  * Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills, including facilitating financial discussions, preparing tasking responses and supporting process development in a dynamic Defence environment.    Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
