About the Role: The Finance Officer sits within the Financial Reporting stream of Strategic Finance and reports to the Senior Finance Officer; Financial Reporting and provides strategic and operational financial support and guidance across CHS. The team is responsible for delivering strategic and financial reporting, including oversight of financial analysis, preparation of annual financial statements, ACT Treasury reporting, and financial risk management. The Finance Officer plays a critical role within the team, assisting in ensuring quality and accuracy of financial processes, maintaining internal controls, and providing valuable finance service support to stakeholders across CHS. The role includes: • Providing operational financial services and support, including accounts payable and receivable and medical staff reimbursement claims. • Assisting in ensuring data integrity and accuracy in financial systems. • Contributing to the monthly financial reporting cycle, including preparation of journals, reconciliations, balance sheet reports and government reporting. • Assisting in external financial reporting, including the preparation of annual financial statements and taxation compliance. • Support governance and compliance activities, including development procedural guidelines in accordance with relevant legislation and frameworks. The role requires an understanding of financial operations within a complex government environment and a good working knowledge of financial information systems, such as Oracle and TM1.
