THE POSITION

We are seeking a customer focused, team player to join our team. You will play a key role in delivering a professional and quality level of customer service with the Finance section that is valued by our stakeholders.
The position will provide support, advice, and accounting services in relation to management of the Authority’s finances, in particular accounts receivable and management accounting related tasks.
Responsibilities include ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable invoices and receipts using the finance system (TechnologyOne), debtor collection management, accounts receivable ledger reconciliations including assisting with the Bank Reconciliation (month-end and year-end), managing accounts related enquiries, and other tasks related to the position as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience, or tertiary study, in Finance, Business, or other administrative fields would be an advantage.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Financial Records: Understand and apply financial knowledge to maintain accurate financial records, provide monthly financial statements to clients, and contribute to internal monthly management reports.
  • Process Accounts Receivable: Accurately and promptly process invoices and receipts using the Technology One accounts receivable system, following the guidelines set out by the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act and internal procedures.
  • Customer Service and Stakeholder Engagement: Understand the needs of internal and external stakeholders, interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, and deliver high-quality customer service that meets stakeholder expectations.
  • Support Management Accounting Tasks: Assist with tasks related to the management of financial accounts, including maintaining the chart of accounts, resolving queries, performing general ledger checks, conducting data analysis, and generating scheduled or ad-hoc reports.
  • Contribute to Policy Development: Help develop, maintain, and improve finance policies, procedures, and manuals related to accounts receivable to ensure they are efficient and comply with legislation and organisational requirements.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work effectively within a team, actively contributing to tasks and providing backup for other roles in the Finance section to support the team’s overall goals and business objectives.
