We are a growing group of businesses spanning multiple sectors, including a software division, a multi-site automotive service operation, and a fast-paced e-commerce arm. Our SaaS platform is scaling rapidly, and we’re looking for a Finance Officer who understands the financial nuances of subscription-based businesses as well as broader group finance functions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • AAT Level 3 qualification (minimum).
  • Previous experience in a finance role within a SaaS or subscription-based business.
  • Proven knowledge of revenue recognition principles in a SaaS environment.
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, VLOOKUPs, and Pivot Tables.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and reconciling management accounts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
  • Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience using Sage, Zoho Books, or other cloud-based accounting platforms.
  • Experience working across multiple businesses or divisions.
  • Familiarity with SaaS metric reporting tools or CRM/ERP integrations.

Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

As Finance Officer, you will take ownership of core financial functions across the group, with a particular focus on the SaaS division’s recurring-revenue model. You’ll be responsible for VAT, payroll, cash forecasting, and month-end close, while also preparing and presenting management accounts to support decision-making. The role requires strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage both traditional accounting processes and the complexities of SaaS finance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Manage monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Oversee SaaS revenue recognition, deferred income, and subscription metrics.
  • Complete month-end reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and present management accounts for review by senior leadership.
  • Produce accurate and timely cash flow forecasts.
  • Maintain and monitor accurate financial records across multiple businesses and cost centres.
  • Track and report SaaS KPIs such as MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, and CAC.
  • Handle confidential information with absolute discretion.
  • Collaborate with operational and SaaS product teams to ensure accurate and insightful reporting.
