Financial Services Branch, as part of Corporate Services Division, provides highquality advice and support to the department and its stakeholders through effective budget management, quality assurance and compliance, meeting financial reporting obligations and ensuring strong governance and performance management frameworks.
- Assist senior officers in the preparation and delivery of reconciliations, financial reports and financial statements; and address financial reporting issues to ensure l compliance with relevant legislation, government policies and the Australian Accounting Standards
- Demonstrate knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of public sector accounting practices and procedures; government policies, Accounting Standards and Legislation and financial systems including SAP
- Contribute to the development, implementation and provision of advice on financial accounting policies, guidelines, methodologies and systems
- Apply practical financial and accounting experience to develop work schedules ensuring key financial deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently and within required timeframes
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies through the use of effective communication skills
- Perform financial accounting and reporting duties including monthly financial accounting activities such as preparation of journals, reconciliations and resolve stakeholder enquiries
- Utilise advanced spreadsheeting and financial systems skills to support analysis, reconciliations and process improvements
- Undertake additional duties as directed by Manager, Finance and Asset Management
