Description

Southport Learning Trust seek to appoint an exceptional Finance Officer. The Finance Officer will play a vital role in ensuring the Trust’s financial success.
In this dynamic position, you’ll oversee key financial processing tasks and help maintain accurate accounting records. You’ll collaborate with schools on purchase orders and sales invoices, gain hands-on experience with our financial systems, and contribute to a supportive environment where your skills and growth are valued.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Operate within the defined financial procedures in accordance with statutory guidelines, financial regulations, departmental and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the requisitioning of goods and processing of invoices.
  • Co-ordinating the purchase of goods and supplies, ensuring that the school obtains the best value for money from suppliers and contractors.
  • Oversee the processes of supplier management, including verification of new suppliers.
  • Dealing with queries regarding supplier and budget holder accounts.
  • Prepare BACS and other payment types to the bank for approval.
  • Receipting and banking and allocation of income.
  • Preparing Bank Reconciliations
  • Prepare and post journals.
  • Assisting with the month-end procedures.
  • Processing of staff expense reimbursements.
  • General administration of School Trips, trip planning and accurate costing.
  • Assist with the administration of the credit card administration and transactions.
  • Assist with the School Hire booking system and monitoring lettings income.
  • Assist with the management and review of the contract and asset register.
  • Ensure appropriate systems and controls are adhered to ensure that financial records are accurate and mitigate against risks such as fraud.
  • Supplementary Support.
  • Administer insurance claims as required.
  • Provide support to the Trust HR team with payroll quality assurance.
  • Provide support to finance and administration staff within the Trust.
  • Archiving and disposing of financial documents in line with record retention requirements.
  • Any other duties as required.

    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: £26,403.00-£28,142.00 per year
