Job Description About this opportunity The location of this position is flexible – either at our Auckland, Henderson or Christchurch sites The Finance Operations Analyst partners each Business Unit Manager and the Finance Business Partner to ensure the profitability of each business unit is optimised and strategic opportunities are developed and actioned. This role is responsible for analysing, monitoring, and reporting key financial and operational indicators and clearly communicating performance insights and improvement opportunities to the management team. Your key responsibilities will be to: Reviewing and analysing key financial indicators to identify opportunities for profit and productivity improvement. Develop and maintain standard costings for seven manufacturing sites. Key “owner” of inventory from the Finance team – developing and maintaining standard costs for manufactured products, finance oversight of stocktake schedule and counts. Key player in the Profit Improvement Process (PIP) identifying, evaluating and tracking initiatives for profit improvement and business growth. Promoting margin improvement by providing and communicating accurate costing data,variances analysis. Regular reporting to sales and operations teams - customers, sales volumes, standard cost and variance analysis, labour cost analysis, productivity, and profitability. Capex support – develop product costings, business cases etc. Provide information and analysis to support tenders and negotiations with both customers and suppliers. Support pricing reviews by calculating customer price rise / fall in line with customer contracts. Ensure compliance with Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and legislation, reporting hazards and incidents promptly. To be successful in this role, you’ll have: Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance; strong grounding in Management/Financial Accounting. CA/CPA qualification preferred. Proven experience (minimum six years) in a large manufacturing environment, with hands-on standard costing, labour/overhead analysis, and variance reporting. Experience with SAP or another large ERP. Advanced Excel skills. Proven track record communicating insights to non-finance stakeholders and driving measurable results.
