DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for an experienced Finance Operations Manager for a 12 month maternity cover contract to join our Finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from and work alongside an experienced and high performing
Finance team in our fast-growing business.
You’ll play an instrumental role in overseeing and assisting with financial processes such as accounts payable and receivable, reconciliation and reporting with your direct reports. You will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy and compliance while also identifying areas for process improvements. You will collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows, support financial decision making and maintain effective financial controls.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- CA/CPA or equivalent accounting qualification
- 5+ years’ relevant experience within a similar position
- Knowledge of relevant Australian accounting standards and taxation legislation
- Familiar with NetSuite; Concur; or equivalent tools
- Possess intermediate MS Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong eye for detail and presentation
- Ability to quickly develop an in-depth knowledge and adapt to change
- Leadership skills to mentor and support your direct reports
- Industry experience preferred but not critical

Responsibilities:
- Oversee a small team handling AP and AR, month-end reconciliations, and payroll processes.
- Track progress & review month-end deliverables for direct reports and work closely with the Group Reporting Manager.
- Review and prepare (with assistance) the consolidated corporate entity tax returns for the Australian Group and corporate tax returns for the NZ entity.
- Review of all other tax forms, including FBT, BAS, and IAS and ensure accurate and timely filing.
- Monitor tax compliance requirements & regulations, working closely with the Head of Tax & GFC.
- Review corporate entity tax-effected accounting entries for month-end and full-year reporting.
- Lead the NZ entity year-end audit year-end, including review the statutory accounts
- Review regular compliance & regulatory reports prior to approval by CFO & GFC.
- Prepare and provide commentary on Breakeven Analysis and Financial Forecasts, with a focus on Core ETF Australia & NZ, including Managed Accounts businesses.
- Work closely with Group CFO and FC on corporate banking treasury activities, such as review & monitoring cash flow forecasts, oversight card datasets and processes to ensure adherence to controls.
- Collaborate and guide new initiatives to be incorporated into Finance operations, working closely with the GFC and other business units (such as Legal and Funds Operations).
- Monitor financial controls, recommend process improvements, document policies & procedures with team support to ensure adherence to fraud protection and compliance measures.
- Maintaining an update-to-date knowledge of accounting standards; regulatory reporting obligations and applicable tax legislation
