Description

WHO WE ARE:

We are This is Beyond. A fast-moving, fast-thinking, and vibrant B2B events company based in London, we’ve grown from an ambitious start-up into a global leader in creating innovative, genre-defining trade shows. Our portfolio of events doesn’t just fill a calendar – they reshape industries.
We’re proud to be recognised as thought leaders in luxury travel, not just curating events but building passionate, purpose-driven communities around them. From reimagining how the travel trade connects, to crafting immersive, culture-led experiences, we exist to push the boundaries of what B2B experiences can be.
As part of Emerald, a leader in building dynamic market platforms that integrate live events and media, our financial operations underpin a large and growing portfolio of brands. This means working at pace, across borders, and in partnership with senior and executive leaders. It’s a chance to step into a role that is both operationally critical and strategically impactful; where accuracy, efficiency, and big-picture thinking all matter.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Finance Operations Manager to oversee the transactional areas of our finance function. Initially, your focus will be on the UK and South Africa Finance team for This is Beyond, with scope to expand your impact across other Emerald portfolios in due course.
You’ll lead a talented team spanning Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Payroll, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while driving efficiencies, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing reporting. More than that, you’ll be a true business partner: curious, confident, and collaborative – able to support senior leaders and help shape the financial foundations of a fast-growing, creative business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead, coach, and manage the Finance Operations team (6 employees split between London and Cape Town).
  • Ensure timely posting of all transactions in AiQ (ERP system), no later than 3 working days post month-end.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Payroll.
  • Authorise and release vendor payments; ensure customer receipts are collected in line with agreed terms.
  • Support the annual UK audits and ERP integration alongside the Financial Controller.
  • Implement operational efficiencies and strengthen internal controls across AP/AR.
  • Enhance reporting and systems, identifying and driving process improvements.
  • Partner with non-financial managers to build financial awareness across the organisation.
  • Perform additional ad hoc duties to support business operations and team objectives.
