Description
Our client is looking for a skilled Finance & Payroll Operations Analyst to strengthen their financial operations and ensure compliance across accounting, payroll, and budgeting functions. This role blends hands-on accounting execution, multi-state payroll administration, and analytical financial support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, payroll integrity, and data-driven insights for leadership. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Operations Process AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Maintain accurate general ledger entries and support audit readiness. Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and compliance documentation. Ensure proper coding, documentation, and internal controls across all transactions. Payroll Administration Manage full-cycle payroll for multi-state employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Validate timesheets, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and ACA-related reporting. Maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and support year-end W-2/1099 processes. Partner with HR to ensure seamless onboarding/offboarding from a payroll perspective. Budgeting & Financial Analysis Support development of annual budgets, forecasts, and cost models. Conduct labor cost analysis, margin modeling, and scenario planning. Prepare dashboards and financial summaries for leadership and client reporting. Analyze trends, identify risks, and recommend cost-optimization strategies. 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, or financial analysis. Strong understanding of GAAP, payroll regulations, and multi-state compliance. Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and payroll platforms (ADP, Paycom, Paychex, etc.). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, financial modeling). Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and operate with high integrity. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting government contracts or public-sector programs. Familiarity with ACA, FLSA, and public-sector reporting requirements. Exposure to budgeting tools or BI dashboards (Power BI, Tableau). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
