About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Operational Risk Officer In this role, you will: Provide companywide oversight and governance of an integrated operational risk program or initiative Develop and drive innovative operational risk approaches and solutions companywide through an influence model Identify potential business operational risks Develop and drive innovative operational risk approaches and solutions companywide through an influence model Constructively and independently challenge existing risk management fundamentals or assumptions and develop alternative approaches and solutions Evaluate long term implications and consequences of strategic business decisions and recommend appropriate alternatives for risk management Lead implementation of complex initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business lines Consult to the business on corrective action plans and effectively managing change Influence and negotiate with executive management and business heads as high-level stakeholders both within and outside Wells Fargo Lead initiatives and virtual teams across the organization to deliver companywide business risk management transformations Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Lead project or virtual teams and mentor less experienced staff Required Qualifications: 7+ years of Operational Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Strong experience in risk management (includes compliance, operational risk, audit, credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, interest rate risk). Also, understanding of the Finance functions (Controller, Treasury, Business Finance, Financial/Regulatory Reporting) business operations, processes, and products where they manifest risk. Industry certifications such as CPA, CIA, CA preferred Finance or Finance Risk Management certification Articulate and possess a demonstrated capability to organize, scope, and execute complex initiatives across a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment Strong interpersonal, influencing, leadership and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across the organization, which includes virtual, matrixed leadership experience Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to draw conclusions and translate findings from complex data Experience gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while prioritizing work and balancing multiple priorities Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) and adept at using Artificial Intelligence tools like Co-pilot etc. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organization levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important Ability to exercise independent judgement and creative problem-solving techniques Independent Operational Risk assessment - reporting and Insights Job Expectations: Position based out of Bangalore or Hyderabad Hybrid working model with strict adherence to required in-office expectations Shift Timings from 01:30 pm to 10:30 pm Meaningful knowledge of the enterprise risk management frameworks and the ORM Methodology, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance, ORM execution and monitoring routines, and risk management programs. Understanding of the Finance functions (Controller, Treasury, Business Finance, Financial/Regulatory Reporting) business operations, processes, and products where they manifest risk. Proven leadership skills to influence change and drive alignment across all levels of stakeholders to develop and deliver repeatable end-to-end risk management solutions. Strong executive communication skills, in both written and verbal formats. Develop, implement, and monitor risk-based programs to identify, assess, and mitigate any operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or external events Maintain a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency Analyze extremely complex business and system changes to determine impact, identify operational risk issues and participate in the development of risk ratings Provide operational risk expertise and consulting to complex business units for initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business lines Consult with the business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change Identify training opportunities Design and coordinate the development of training materials and coordinate or deliver training Report findings and develop business cases to influence executive management, management committee member or head of business on the need for controls to mitigate risk Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Lead project or virtual teams and mentor less experienced staff.
