About the Role
Scope includes developing and implementing tax strategies, tax accounting and tax filing / reporting to optimise the tax paid by the company. The person also needs to ensure compliance with AIA group tax policy, statutory and regulatory requirements.
This position will assist tax managers to manage the tax affairs of (1) AIA Singapore, (2) AIA Brunei, (3) LCV, (4) AIAFA and (5) AIA Agent Provident Fund including but not limited to:
- 60% - Corporate Income Tax (Singapore and Brunei)
- Proactively manage the tax risks of the Singapore segment
- Ensure all tax compliance requirements are accurately and promptly met.
- Prepare and maintain tax records, returns, reports, and other tax related materials
- Recommend alternative tax treatments to alleviate tax burden and devise legal means to minimise tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct research and analysis of existing and upcoming tax legislation to support AIA’s tax planning and tax strategy.30% - Tax accounting including deferred tax.
- Prepare tax journal entries.
- Prepare monthly & quarterly group reporting tax template and balance sheet reconciliation.10% - Withholding tax and GST submission.10% - Assist in BEPS project
- Meet the deadline set by Group, Statutory Requirement and management
- Coordinate with key partners, Tax consultant and Tax Office with regards to ECI and ITR income tax filing.
- Highlight any tax issues for partner concern to group office on timely manner.
- Actively work with auditors and external consultants (if any) during annual audit/projects
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Degree in Accounting and/or professional qualification
- At least 8 years’ experience on Corporate Income Tax experience.
- Experience with taxation of insurance companies is a plus.
- Certifications/licenses – CPA and/or SIATP
- Special skills – Knowledge of Singapore tax rules and regulation
