We are offering an exciting opportunity in the transport industry for an Accountant based in Stockton, California. This role primarily involves various accounting and financial operations, with a focus on General Ledger management and analytical duties. The position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing an excellent chance to transition into a long-term role.

• Analyzing, preparing, and maintaining financial records and reports for assigned accounts and funds
• Conducting regular reviews and reconciliations of assigned accounts and accounting transactions
• Developing and maintaining schedules and subsidiary accounts
• Providing accurate and timely financial reports to support sound decision-making
• Reviewing accounts payable entries to ensure they are correctly booked and posting those entries
• Reviewing cash receipts and accounts receivable entries to ensure they are correctly booked and posting those entries
• Performing cash reconciliations
• Regularly reviewing General Ledger accounts for accuracy
• Reclassifying general ledger entries as needed
• Processing bus pass orders
• Applying knowledge of accounting principles and practices to all tasks
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accountant role, preferably within the Transport industry.
• Proficiency in General Ledger management.
• Demonstrated skills in financial Analysis.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).
• Prior experience in Cash Reconciliations.
• Ability to handle Daily Cash Receipts effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical abilities are crucial.
