Description
PURPOSE:
The Finance Specialist supports the financial operations of a newly established manufacturing facility. This role works closely with the CFO and collaborates with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and Italy to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing finance background, experience working in SAP, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
DUTIES:
Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial records in SAP, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for manufacturing operations.
Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and variances.
Support standard cost development and maintenance within SAP.
Collaborate with operations to improve cost visibility and financial controls.
Work closely with the Italian finance operations teams to align financial processes, reporting requirements, and timelines.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and support global reporting initiatives.
Assist with intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and documentation.
Support internal controls and financial policies to ensure compliance with company standards.
Assist with audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
Help implement and define finance processes as the facility scales.
Provide financial analysis and support for business decisions and special projects.
Support system enhancements, process improvements, and SAP best practices.
Perform additional finance-related duties as assigned by the CFO.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
SAP experience preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a start-up or growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
Experience working with international teams or global organizations.
Manufacturing cost accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication skills, including collaboration with international teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Continuous improvement mindset.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
On-site presence at our facility in Trotwood, OH.
Occasional meetings outside standard business hours to support collaboration with our Italian team.
May require limited travel, domestic or international.
Will require successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
Responsibilities
The job involves managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The specialist will also assist in budgeting and financial reporting.
