Description

We are a growing construction business with around 60 employees, operating four main divisions: civil engineering, retention works, luxury garden rooms and SIPs housing. The variety of work keeps things interesting, and there’s a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration throughout the business.
We’re looking for someone confident and experienced with payroll/ finance processes, comfortable with systems, working with cost codes, and happy juggling the practical details, whether it’s coordinating invoice submissions with suppliers or making sure someone’s payslip is correct.
This is a new part-time role supporting our finance function. You’ll be helping us track spending, manage admin and provide backup support during holidays or busy spells. It’s a great opportunity to join a friendly, down-to-earth team and get involved in the financial heartbeat of the business.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting payroll processes
Recording and reporting on spending linked to travel, materials, and procurement
Chasing quotes and managing purchasing admin
Cost coding and recording purchases accurately
Maintaining supplier details, forms and invoice records
Helping us spot patterns in spend and build better processes
Providing cover for payroll during absence or handover
What you’ll bring:
Experience in payroll, finance admin, or procurement
Familiarity with finance systems, ideally Xero or similar
Comfortable with codes, spreadsheets, and sorting through details
Proactive, practical, and highly organised
Great attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Able to handle change, be flexible and work independently when needed
