About the Role 

 

We are looking for a strategic, hands-on Finance Transformation Lead to drive Automic's Finance Transformation Program and help shape the future of our finance function. This is a 9 month fixed-term contract opportunity. 

Reporting to the CFO, you'll lead a portfolio of finance automation, systems improvement and data governance initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered from concept through to adoption and business ownership. This is a highly visible role that partners across Finance, Technology, Operations, Legal and People to deliver scalable solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen controls and support business growth. 

Leading a small team of Finance Projects specialists and a Data Governance Lead, you'll bring structure, pace and accountability to a critical transformation agenda. 

 

Key responsibilities include 

  • Lead and deliver Automic's Finance Transformation Program, including governance, budgeting, planning, reporting and benefits realisation. 
  • Prioritise and manage a portfolio of transformation initiatives, balancing impact, effort, urgency and business dependencies. 
  • Drive automation and process improvement across billing, accounts payable, collections, payroll, reconciliations and financial reporting. 
  • Partner closely with Technology to deliver finance systems integrations and support AI-driven automation opportunities. 
  • Redesign and optimise finance processes to improve efficiency, scalability and user experience. 
  • Lead the company's data governance program, establishing data ownership, controls and consistent master data standards across the business. 
  • Track program benefits, including productivity gains, cost savings and risk reduction, reporting outcomes to senior leadership. 
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation and lead change management activities to support successful adoption. 
  • Mentor and develop a small team, building long-term transformation and project delivery capability within Finance. 

Desired Skills and Experience

About you! 

You'll bring: 

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline. 
  • Minimum 5 years of consulting experience in finance transformation, ideally with a Big 4 
  • Track record of leading end-to-end finance transformation programs that delivered clear, measurable outcomes 
  • Strong project and program management expertise, including governance, budget management, vendor management and multi-stream delivery. 
  • Experience implementing finance systems, ERP platforms, automation initiatives or operational transformation programs. 
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, controls and data governance principles. 
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Technology teams to deliver systems and automation outcomes. 
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and change management skills. 
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing small, cross-functional teams. 

Highly Regarded 

  • Experience with NetSuite, Zone or similar ERP/finance platforms. 
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools. 
  • Exposure to AI-enabled automation and digital transformation initiatives. 
  • Experience working in a growing, fast-paced or technology-enabled business environment.
