Responsibilities:
As a Financial Accountant - Business Services at ABN Group, you will be working to improve financial processes and systems, simplifying and automating ways of working and ensuring more efficient and compliant execution of accounting tasks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations and ensuring the timely execution of key accounting tasks. Your work will directly contribute to the effectiveness of management reporting and support the period-end close process, ensuring accurate and compliant financial data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in finance process improvement initiatives: simplify, reengineer, reduce manual effort, measure outcomes and support business to allow focus on value creation
- Prepare and process journals, manage allocations, and ensure that all entries are accurate, substantiated, and in compliance with company policies
- Oversee the accounting for a range of business activities, including revenue recognition from contracts, leases, prepayments, accruals, non-current assets, and employee benefit provisions
- Manage intercompany transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation and settlement of accounts, while maintaining meticulous records and compliance with intercompany agreements
- Assist with period-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
- Compile internal financial reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency with the general ledger
- Assist with the weekly cash flow forecast reporting, ensuring that financial data is up-to-date and accurately reflects ABN Group’s cash position
- Manage and update finance master data and support other ad-hoc finance tasks as required
