Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to support the iconic Athlete’s Foot brand across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and driving the integrity of our data - all within a high-performing, fast-paced retail environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the Balance Sheet and P&L for Australia and New Zealand on a weekly basis
  • Oversee debtors’ management for both AU and NZ
  • Process ad hoc invoicing for rebates and contributions
  • Lead intercompany reconciliations and act as the main point of contact
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reviews and ensure accuracy
  • Coordinate preparation of BAS returns (submitted at Group consolidated level)
  • Prepare detailed profit and loss accounts and conduct analysis
  • Drive the month-end close process and ensure deadlines are met
  • Accurately account for and review monthly accruals
  • Liaise with external auditors on a bi-annual basis
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and tax requirements
  • Support the coordination of annual budgets, including operating and capital expenditure
  • Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and continuous process improvements
