AHA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to join our growing real estate management team in Aurora, Colorado. In this role, you will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting of a diverse portfolio of properties. You will serve as a key financial partner to our property managers and executive leadership, ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who possesses a deep understanding of real estate accounting systems and complex monthly closing processes Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities for a designated portfolio of commercial or residential properties. Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statement packages, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis. Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with Property Managers to develop annual operating budgets and provide monthly variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget). CAM Reconciliation: Lead the annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM), tax, and insurance reconciliation process. Compliance & Audit: Ensure all property-level activities comply with internal controls and assist external auditors during year-end reviews. Mentorship: Provide guidance and review the work of junior accounting staff or bookkeepers. Experience: 4+ years of professional accounting experience, specifically within the Real Estate or Property Management industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in specialized real estate software such as Yardi, MRI, or AppFolio is highly preferred. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) are a must. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and site teams. Additional Information Salary $86,000-$95,000 In accordance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Act; We are actively recruiting for this position and accepting applications.
