Are you a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) with relevant post qualified experience?
Our ideal candidate will have an accounting background and familiarity with double entry and journal processing. Insurance or Financial Services experience would be ideal, however we will also consider candidates with experience gained in a large multinational company from other sectors.
We operate a Hybrid working model between home and office working and are open to discuss flexible working options. The role sits in a team of 5 Financial Accountants and reports into our Financial Accounting Manager based in Glasgow.
Experience of preparing Financial Statements (IFRS, UK GAAP) is required as the role will involve preparing Statutory Accounts for entities with varying complexity

Responsibilities
  • The role is responsible for approving entries for the business and creating potentially complex entries from business requests
  • Assist the month end, quarter end and year close processes and perform the process as required
  • Assist the provision of appropriate reporting to management and work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis team in London/Divisional Finance Officers to manage expectations and ensure US GAAP numbers are accurate
  • Implement US GAAP changes locally as directed by management and assist the finance team in overseeing work performed by the offshore Financial Accounting team in India.
  • Ownership of the approval and sign-off on balance sheet reconciliations and Ongoing analysis/investigation for aged items.
  • Preparation of Financial Documents under IFRS/UK GAAP.
  • Assist with the monthly payroll process for EMEA ensuring that bookings are made accurately, and confidentiality is maintained.
  • Manage the production and approval of Peoplesoft journals associated to all applicable procedures in line with the delegated authority listing.
  • Lead continuous improvement in the workflows, seeking to maximise efficiency and timeliness of reporting.
  • Liaise with the FP&A team and finance colleagues in Philadelphia, ensuring their reporting needs and accounting issues are addressed as appropriate

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) with working experience
  • We will consider also candidates with circa 1-2 years post qualified experience in industry, financial services or private practice
  • Accounting and reporting experience. Knowledge of technical and general accounting such as Payroll, Fixed Assets, Accruals and Reserving.
  • Experience of coordinating technical processes within tight timescales
  • Able to adapt communication style to liaise with employees at all levels within the organisation.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP is desirable
  • Experience of US GAAP Reporting in a multi-national environment is desirableAdvanced Excel skills and Strong communication skills
