We’re keen to hear from candidates that can demonstrate experience working in this role or are ready to take their next step up from an Assistant Financial Accountant and have experience in and enthusiasm for supporting and supervising the work of junior colleagues. You’ll be a confident communicator, as you will be required to confirm complex financial information. Previous experience of working in insurance would be advantageous, but not essential, as full training and support will be provided to the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working in a Finance role
  • You must be comfortable working with IT solutions, particularly when using Excel.
  • Strong commercial acumen and awareness is essential.
  • Ideally you will have gained exposure to Financial Accounting
  • Experience of using SAP would be desirable.
  • Accounting within the insurance industry would be desirable
  • Evidence of part qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)

Responsibilities

ARAG UK has an excellent new opportunity for a Financial Accountant in our Finance Department in Bristol.
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of the monthly reporting for our Insurance Operations and Managing Agent’s (MGA’s) in the UK and ROI. You will work together with the rest of the Finance team to bring the accounts to trial balance, prepare the financial accounts and will take responsibility for aspects of the general ledger which are under your control.
You will support the Financial Accounting Manager to liaise with external and internal auditors. The Financial Accountant may assist with other Finance related projects and will support the more junior members of the team in completing, reviewing, and improving month end procedures and reconciliations.
