About the job


About the roleA well-established international FMCG trading business is looking for a Financial Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting for its Dubai operations and support the group's wider reporting cycle. This hands-on role suits a proactive accountant comfortable in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.

  • What you'll doProcess accounts payable and receivable, freight invoices, expense claims and general-ledger entries in line with policy and accounting standards.
  • Prepare bank entries and timely reconciliations.
  • Maintain balance-sheet reconciliations across bank, receivables, payables, intercompany, accruals and inventory accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Support monthly and year-end close through journals, accruals, cut-off reviews, FX revaluation and reporting packs.
  • Assist with inventory and cost accounting, reviewing raw material, work-in-progress, finished goods and freight cost components.
  • Manage intercompany accounting and confirmations across group entities.
  • Maintain fixed-asset records and support capex accounting and depreciation documentation.
  • Monitor receivables and payables ledgers and support collection and payment reporting.
  • Assist with VAT calculations, returns and local compliance documentation.
  • Prepare management-information reports and Excel-based analysis.
  • Support internal and external audit, tax and compliance information requests.


  • What you bringBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, progress toward ACCA, CPA, CA or CIMA is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in a comparable financial accounting role, including month-end close, reconciliations and general-ledger processing.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and practical experience with sound accounting controls and documentation.
  • Experience in an international trading, commodity, logistics, manufacturing or inventory-based environment is preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems.
  • Exposure to multi-currency accounting, intercompany reconciliations and UAE VAT requirements is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and a proactive approach to deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal English, comfortable collaborating across countries and functions.
