REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Accountant with minimum one year PQE
  • Experience in both practice and industry, an advantage
  • Experience within large multinational company or retail, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical industry is a distinct advantage
  • Microsoft Business Central experience is also an advantage
  • Demonstrated and proven ability to work within a team to achieve common goals
  • Experience in the implementation of best in class Financial controls and procedures

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This is an excellent role for a qualified accountant who is looking for a new challenge in a large Division of a fast-growing Irish Plc. You will be responsible for the month-end process and Financial controls in Retail Business. This position supports the Retail finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager.

KEY OUTCOMES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with the Finance Manager and the GL team on the following tasks:

  • Preparation and close of month end management accounts and reporting packs within 5-day close
  • Processing monthly journals with review of supporting schedules for key GL & BS Accounts
  • Overhead variance analysis to budget/prior year
  • Review/present profit & loss and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure strong financial controls are maintained across all processes
  • Provide valuable insights to the business on performance in a timely manner
  • Support & reconcile tax return on PAYE/VAT/WHT
  • Manage weekly/monthly payroll including KPI reporting
  • Audit file preparation and liaison with auditors
  • Work with the Operational Team to manage budgetary control on key property and overhead lines
  • Other project work opportunities
