JOB OVERVIEW

Mission Services of London is a non-profit social service agency dedicated to serving residents of London and Middlesex County with compassion and dignity. We are currently hiring a Full-Time Financial Accountant with at least 3 years of accounting experience. This role is responsible for key accounting functions including revenue and expense processing, reconciliations, monthly financial reporting, audit support, and assisting with budget preparation. The position reports directly to the Director of Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and support monthly and year-end close procedures.
• Assist with budget development and board/funder reporting.
• Help prepare audit documentation and maintain accurate schedules.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and contribute to the development of improved accounting procedures.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
• Reconcile payroll entries, deductions, and taxes in the general ledger, including WSIB and EHT remittances.
• Prepare and submit semi-annual HST returns and assist in gathering required information for municipal, provincial, and federal financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in accounting.
• CPA or working toward designation is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) with strong computer skills, including experience in database management, spreadsheets, and accounting software (Great Plains is an asset).
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Pay: $49,088.00-$69,992.00 per year
