EPIC ESSENTIALS A new role has been created for a financial accountant to join a growing environmental consulting business located in the Brisbane CBD. You will form part of the business support team and support the business across our Australian footprint but also work closely with our US corporate accounting team. It is an exciting time for the business as we moved away from Xero to Workday as our new ERP. Reporting to the commercial manager your tasks will include: A new role has been created for a financial accountant to join a growing environmental consulting business located in the Brisbane CBD. You will form part of the business support team and support the business across our Australian footprint but also work closely with our US corporate accounting team. It is an exciting time for the business as we moved away from Xero to Workday as our new ERP. Reporting to the commercial manager your tasks will include: Ensure the successful completion of the month end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis. Oversee accounts payable and receivable. Contribute to annual budgeting and Quarterly forecasting. Providing analysis and commentary to support management reporting. Collaborate with department leaders to ensure alignment with strategy and operations. Attend to internal and external auditors’ questions for information. Assist with project setup and contract accounting review: Receive and review incoming contract requests from project managers. Review contract terms and conditions for accounting treatment. Identify any potential risks or areas requiring clarification. Utilise Workday to efficiently store, track, and manage contracts. Serve as a point of contact for questions and advice related to the project setup and project management. Own Workday system from a financial stance including mastery of the system and detailed knowledge of reporting. Support processing of customer invoices: Oversee reparation of accurate and timely invoices based on purchase orders, contracts, and service agreements. WHAT YOU WILL BRING To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following: 2+ years of experience in project accounting, financial management, or related roles, preferably in a project-based environment. Preferably CA/CPA qualified (or working towards) Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills. Workday experience not required but will be an advantage. Demonstrate a strong desire to learn the ins and outs of Workday and a willingness to explore its functionalities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Hands on attitude. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience in government contracting, construction, or other project-based industries is a plus.
