Job Description As the Financial Accountant for our Energy business, you will play a key role in supporting the business by: Completing month-end journals and ensuring compliance with NRMA guidelines Calculating prepayments and provision balances and reviewing month-end results with meaningful commentary against set metrics Collaborating with business and commercial teams to finalise month-end accounts and ensure timely action on outstanding items Leading investigations into variances and providing insightful, evidence-based analysis to support decision making Completing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, preparing ageing of reconciling items, and ensuring compliance with finance policies and accounting standards. Coordinating and reporting on stocktakes, preparing statutory accounts, and compiling audit information for statutory, grant, and internal audits Identifying and assisting with the implementation of process improvements to enhance the finance function’s operational efficiency You will also act as a conduit between Finance Shared Services and the business, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the NRMA Balance Sheet and supporting business planning processes. What You’ll Bring Completed relevant tertiary degree and CA/CPA qualification Minimum 2–3 years post-graduate experience, with demonstrated expertise in month-end close and reporting ideally within a medium – large organisation Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines Strong communication and rapport-building skills across all organisational levels Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint A solid understanding of Accounting Standards Prior experience with large ERP systems (Oracle) would be desirable Proficiency in finance BI tools (PA/TM1) also desirable What's in it for you?
