Responsibilities:

Reporting to the financial controller, the primary objective of the role is to assist maintenance and delivery of the accounting processes of the Business, including month end close journals and reporting. This is a hands on, transactional role, where you will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of monthly profit and loss statements, including journal postings, cost analysis and variance commentary
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc project tasks including automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Assistance with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assistance as required with Tax compliance work including tax return, BAS and FBT preparation
  • Support the budgeting preparation and planning and support the preparation of forecasting between budget periods.
  • Prepare workpapers and reconciliations for annual audit and statutory reporting in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure all accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with the relevant legislation
  • Implement, maintain and improve internal controls associated with functional responsibilities including identifying and managing risk
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
